Susie's PhD research aims to identify and characterise the expression of novel microRNAs during male and female mouse brain development .  This project makes use of section in situ hybridisation, qPCR and small RNA-sequencing technologies.  Susie graduated with a BBioMedSci(Hons) degree in Reproduction, Development and Genetics in 2016.  Susie was awarded a University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship in 2017.
