Dr Lyvianne Decourtye
I completed my PhD in Physiology, Physiopathology and Therapeutics in 2016 at the University Pierre and Marie Curie / Sorbonne University in France. My PhD project was to study the impact of perinatal nutrition on the programming of the somatotropic axis. More precisely, I studied the impact of hormones strongly regulated by perinatal nutrition like IGF-1, insulin and leptin on axonal growth of GHRH neurons belonging to the somatotropic axis. I Developed an expertise in explant culture of arcuate nucleus of hypothalamus of 7 days old mice also than technical skills in animal experimentation, molecular biology and biochemistry analysis.
In August 2017 I was employed as a postdoctoral fellow in Megan Wilson laboratory in the Department of Anatomy at the University of Otago in New Zealand. I am currently studying the implication of a transcription factor Lbx1 on the development of embryonic spinal cord and on its subsequent implication in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. This project continues my training on biological development and allows me to learn up-to-date experimental techniques like ChIP-Sequencing and RNA Sequencing.
